Great to hear you found this helpful! I wouldn’t worry too much about transition words in your recipe card. That really is a very different style of writing, where your aim is to give your step by step instructions as clearly and concisely as possible so someone can follow along as they cook. Remember Yoast is a ‘once size fits all’ tool. So while it’s great for the ‘main body’ of your post, it’s not going to be directly applicable in all circumstances – and a recipe card is a good example of where you might have to do things slightly differently. A good rule of thumb is if it’s a choice between what Yoast says and what you know is best with your reader… always go with your reader! Hope that helps – Eb 😀

As a food blogger, I seem to struggle most with transition words – especially in the step-by-step instructions.

I love the part about writing first and editing later, I fell into the trap of editing as I go along and wasted so much time.

Thanks, J
